Slipstream Installation

The following page outlines the process of creating a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server ("MOSS") 2007 with Service Pack 1 slipstream. Once you have all the files extracted and put in the proper locations you can then copy these to a CD and keep them for future use.

Download Windows SharePoint Services ("WSS") Service Pack 1 and MOSS Service Pack 1 from,

Extract the files into temporary locations using the following commands,

Wssv3sp1-kb936988-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:C:\WSSSP1Extract

Officeserver2007sp1-kb936984-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:C:\MOSSSP1Extract

  • Create a folder on your C: called MOSSInstallation
  • Copy the contents of your MOSS CD into MOSSInstallation
  • Copy the contents from C:\WSSSP1Extract and C:\MOSSSP1Extract into the MOSSInstallation\Updates folder

At this point, you are ready to perform the slipstream installation of MOSS with SP1

The slipstream installation is required if you want to install MOSS with SP1 onto Windows Server 2008.
